AAMIR

The star of popular TV soaps like KAHIN TO HOGA, KYA HADSA KYA HAQEEQAT and LEFT RIGHT LEFT - Rajeev Khandelwal - would be soon making his big screen debut. He would be seen in a film titled AAMIR, which is a 'UTV Spotboy' production. However, not many are aware that the film has Anurag Kashyap as it's creative producer. Anurag found the script of AAMIR quite interesting and also believed in Rajeev as an actor due to which he got involved with the film.

Rajeev plays the lead protagonist Aamir, who is a London based doctor. Dealing with the theme of terrorism, the film sees Aamir coming to meet his family in India. But little did he know that he would soon get involved in a conspiracy that would take the story to its thrilling finale.

AAMIR is directed by debutant Rajkumar Gupta who had earlier assisted Anurag Kashyap in NO SMOKING.

During his journey he faces different kinds of people making his trip to India hatke than what was expected. Sounds interesting? Will ‘Aamir’ emerge as a leader or get lost in the crowd? For answer watchout for this movie. Relief is, its not usual bollywood masala flick.

BREAK-UP : A boon

Shahid-Kareena breakup seems to have worked for everyone. Where Bebo and Saif are rocking, Shahid too seems to be going places. After pairing up with much mature Vidya Balan, the chocolate boy will now be seen with Sushmita Sen in a film to be directed by Shahid’s good friend Rohit.

The little birdie says that the production house Shemaroo has already shot some portions of the film with an international crew without giving a slightest hint to media. But the officials of Shemaroo Entertainment deny the news saying that the film will go on the floors in May and will be shot in a single start-to-finish schedule. The movie will be shot in Mumbai and also on some international locations.

Lets wait and watch the chemistry between Bollywood cute lad and sizzling beauty!

KYA PHIR MILENGE?

If you thought you would never be able to see the cute Shahid-Kareena pair again, there is something for you. Their delayed and almost shelved project ‘Milenge Milenge’ inspired by Hollywood’s romantic flick ‘Serendipity’ has revived again and Shahid has already started dubbing for the film. The film was supposed to release on this year’s valentines day but then….

Director Satish Kaushik confirmed the news saying, “He (Shahid) has already started dubbing for the film. Kareena will dub as soon as she returns from her overseas trip. Yes, the film does have elements of Serendipity.”

The movie had been shot even before ‘Jab We Met’ and just when everyone thought that it has been completely shelved, Boney Kapoor, the film’s producer, got Shahid and Kareena to spare a few days to dub for the film. However, since the film has been shot three years back you will get to see a fuller (read plumper) Kareena and a cuter (read kiddish) Shahid.

ORIGINAL CHOICES!

Now it can be told! Everyone knows that Fardeen Khan was initially supposed to enact the role that has been portrayed brilliantly by Akshaye Khanna in RACE. Also, Mallika Sherawat was the first choice for the role of Mini [eventually portrayed by Sameera Reddy], the dumb associate of the investigating officer. Not many know that the casting underwent many changes before it finally went to the actors we see on screen today. Read on…

To start with, when Fardeen Khan opted out of the project [the dates were clashing with HEYY BABYY], the makers approached John Abraham for the part. John heard the script, but declined the offer because he didn't want to portray a negative role [didn't he win accolades in DHOOM?]. The role went to Akshaye Khanna.

Before Bipasha Basu came into the picture, the role was initially offered to Priyanka Chopra. She too, like John, didn't like the idea of playing a negative role interesting [although she won tremendous praise for her part in Abbas-Mustan's AITRAAZ]. Bipasha was the next choice and when she heard the script, it was a 'Yes' instantly.

Anil Kapoor too wasn't the first choice for the part of the investigating officer. This role was first offered to Ajay Devgan, who loved the script, but felt that he wouldn't like to do a strong, intense film then. Akshay Kumar was approached next. The actor shares a terrific rapport with Abbas-Mustan, but he declined the role because he didn't want to play a secondary role.

AAMIR KHAN'S NEW LOOK

There is a popular saying in Bollywood that ‘Whatever Aamir ‘Perfectionist’ Khan does, he does not follow any style, because whatever he does, simply becomes a style in itself’. The latest one being that he has gone bald for his forthcoming film Ghajini, with the southern sensation Asin and the Bollywood hottie Jiah Khan paired opposite him.

He going bald had become the talk of the town for quite some time now. And the ‘day’ decided was his Birthday, which eventually got postponed. When the D-Day (or is it the B-Day- Bald Day) arrived, ‘Mr. Perfect’ Aamir ultimately bid good bye to his much loved hair, in the presence of his near and dear ones. And the person instrumental in this was the renowned celebrity hair stylist Avan Contractor, and the location was Aamir’s residence in Bandra. The ‘USP’ of this one and a half an hour ‘balding session’ was that, at the end of it all, at the behest of Aamir, Avan created a scar with the razor on Aamir’s head!

It looks quite ironical that it was the same Aamir who had gone full fledged with his locks in Mangal Pandey: The Rising. And now it is the same Aamir who has gone bald, though the common factor remains that both of these ‘hairstyles’ were not an overnight decision. Aamir had spent lots of time working out on these looks.

So, please do not be surprised if you suddenly find the young men going bald. Because you know that the reason is not the summer, or the dandruff and definitely not the lice, but it’s called the refreshing ‘Aamir slice’!!!
